About Me

I am a Rehabilitation Counsellor (ASORC Accredited), aunty to two nieces and one nephew, a dog lover and avid traveller.

I cared for my beautiful mum Alice Moya McKay for 6 1/2 years at home around the clock. She had an acquired brain injury. I wish to impart my knowledge developed from this experience to families around the world in order to give them the confidence to care for their loved one at home. This is why How to Care at Home was created.

I gained valuable information and insights from our family doctor (G.P), neuro-physiotherapists, occupational therapist, speech therapist, continence nurse, podiatrist, peg nurse, dietician and personal care attendants who made the journey possible.

How to Care at Home acts as a guide for all families and friends who wish to care for a loved one at home. It’s the ultimate resource for  those who need full nursing care, general nursing care, those who have an acquired brain injury or other chronic conditions.
